The Foundation carries out all its activities with its own professional staff and site-specific programs that are a synthesis of ancient knowledge and new techniques, anchored in the core concepts of respect, responsibility and sustainability, with the utmost devotion to nature, and the ecosystem: organic cultivation using natural methods; research to obtain better knowledge of techniques of protection and propagation so that plant resistance can be increased through constant maintenance and care of the soil; judicious use of natural resources; reuse, recycling and valorisation of existing elements; water self-sufficiency through rainwater harvesting and the construction of wells; sustainable management of vegetable and organic waste, which is processed in on-site compost bins and used to maintain soil fertility; increasing biodiversity through the planting of trees and shrubs, herbaceous plants, aromatic herbs and other melliferous species to attract bees and other pollinating insects; installing nesting boxes and drinking troughs to attract birds.
